2009 Holiday Hoopla: Nobody's Home by LouCeel (giveaway)

Welcome to Mommycosm's 2nd Annual Holiday Hoopla!

I am VERY excited about today's giveaway item.  One of my favorite bloggers, Lou aka LouCeel, donated a signed/dated and framed photo, which he named Nobody's Home.

When he first posted Nobody's Home, I found it to be stunning...almost haunting.  It's gorgeous - and so is Lou.  If you don't already have him in your reader, please go read his blog.  I love his writing experiments, his haikus and his photos.  But honestly, most of all, I love his spirit.

Lou closes all of his posts with the word "Ndinombethe", an African proverb which translates to "as I go, I am wearing you."  It refers to the handprint we leave on the lives of others as we cross paths, whether intended or accidental.  It is such a powerful word and concept.  The world would be a much better place if we all remembered that our actions, whether small or large, leave an imprint on others.  Amazing.

Although I have yet to meet Lou in person, he has definitely left a handprint on my life.

He generously signed, dated and framed a copy of Nobody's Home for one lucky Mommycosm reader!  The print is 11x14 and it is in a 16x20 frame.

Here it is ready to go in his studio:

I wish I could enter to win because it is truly gorgeous.  But (for once) this isn't about me - it's about giving back to you...SO...

That is gorgeous. Is that a train car? This would look amazing in my office.

This is a beautiful and wonderful print. It is so great that he signed it, too. It would be an honor to win it.

I discovered Lou through Velvet Verbosity's 100-Word Challenge, and I've been thankful ever since. His writing and photography always touch me in some way: sometimes with a chuckle and sometimes with a chill. I'd be thrilled to have his haunting print hanging on my wall.

Oh my word. I LOVE this print so very much. And I LOVE how it is framed. Louceel is one of my favorite new blogs. I have just discovered it and I can not get enough! How can there not be any more comments? I am off to tell all my friends right this second! WOW!

Nobody's Home arrived yesterday, and it is even more lovely than it appeared online. I am proud to welcome it to its new home! Thanks again, Mommycosm and Lou!
