My Dog Ate My Pizza

I mentioned before that we adopted our Australian Shepard, Chester from a rescue league.  He's the sweetest dog in the world and great with the kids.  I also mentioned that he has one small personality flaw... a weakness for baked goods.  He's decided to expand his palate...it now includes pizza.

Yep, the damn dog stole an entire half of a Dominos extra large cheese pizza!  Right. Off. The. Counter.  Our babysitter was over.  She walked away for all of 2 minutes to change BamBam's diaper.  Went back into the kitchen.  It was GONE...all of it!!!!

Crazy me, but I'm thinking that dogs aren't supposed to eat pizza?  Probably won't kill him, like chocolate?  Help me out here.

What's the worst thing your pet has eaten?  Please share.  Leave a comment.

Awwww, what a cutie! I have two cats. The worst thing they've ever eaten is each other's puke/hairballs (kid you not) and ribbon (imagine freaked out human, me, pulling said ribbon out of yowling cat's butt - all two feet of it!). Ish.

My aunt's retriever once ate a dozen bran muffins. Didn't get the runs. Oh, and? He ate the cat's poo.

OHmommy,
Aussies can be wonderful with children. They love being around people and have a natural herding tendency.
The downside is that they have a ton of energy and are smarter than your average 2 year old. You need to exercise them AND train them so that they know who is in charge. They can be very naughty if you fail to do either.

Ooh boy! That must’ve led to some nice gas afterwards. Whenever I give my dog cheese, I pay for it later.

I don’t know if you’re familiar with In-N-Out Burger, but it’s a Southern CA favorite. Best burger you’ll ever have. Anyway, I had a nice juicy In-N-Out Double-Double on the kitchen table one afternoon and my cell phone rang. I picked up, and wandered around the house as I spoke (why do I always have to be in motion when I talk??). When I got back to the table, my burger was gone. I actually thought for a moment that I ate it unconsciously. As I was pondering the fate of my burger, my dog came into the house and burped. Yes, he burped. Insult to injury!! I walked outside to find an empty In-N-Out wrapper. He even ate the lettuce and tomato! What dog eats vegetables?

Awesome!! In the first two weeks of bringing home our two year old lab/rottie cross, she grabbed half a pizza off the counter, too! I was freakin' amazed! Half a pizza in a split second. I think I went to the pantry for something, turned around and she was licking up the floor. Gone! She was fine, of course but, if I recall, she had a bit of nasty doggie-gas later that night. Ewwww.....

Oh wait. The worst thing she ate, not too long after the pizza incident, was a bag of bagels, with the plastic bag. The next morning on our walk, she was obviously struggling to extricate bag from her rear end. Dragging her butt thru the snow. She was in agony. New to dog ownership, I didn't know what to do as I was not about to go and pull it out! It took a little while but finally it came out on its own(not without getting poop all over her hind quarters). End of January and fighting to bathe a big, poopy dog who HATES the tub! Ugh!
We love her though. Our big, sucky love bear!
