Select A Candidate

If you’re anything like me, you know exactly which candidates you do NOT want to vote for in the upcoming Presidential primary elections…but haven’t quite narrowed down which of the remaining candidates is the lesser of the evils best fit for you.

We leave for our vacation on Monday and won’t be back until late the night before Election Day. We vote a little early here in NH. I always vote, but for the first time in my life, I am very interested in the outcome…and have found myself asking those around me who they are voting for…and why.  While I'm away, I don't want to think about much of anything...beyond who is watching the kids so that mommy can have a margarita by the pool, so I feel like I need to make a decision before we leave.

It’s difficult to distinguish between a number of the candidates and where they stand on the issues. I found this Select A Candidate Survey. It asks a series of questions and then makes you rate how important the issue is to you. It will then give you a weighted list of the presidential candidates showing you exactly where your views match theirs.

I wasn’t shocked to find that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were the first 2 on my list.  It gave me a list of where I agree and disagree with each. I found it helpful, although I’m still undecided.

Do you know who you are voting for?

If not, give it a try.

If so, I'd love to hear the whos and the whys.  Please leave a comment.

OK, I'm supposed to vote for either John McCain (can't stand him!) or Tom Tancredo (who?). I can't even decide who I want to vote for. It's not even 2008 and I'm already sick of the presidential race. Can I just buy a Caribbean island, buy a surplus US submarine, declare war on the US, lose, and receive billions in war reparations? Huh?

Can't you tell I'm over it?

Thanks for the heads-up!

Oh I am glad that I choose not to vote, although, that means I can't bitch! haha!!

I got Hilary first, then, Chris Dodd, then John Edwards. Its interesting to note that Barack was 8th on my list. I agree with Heather that I'm already reeling from the huge list of candidates and its not even 2008 yet. I'll say it here first that I think next year is not going to be very fun politically. As if politics were ever "fun" to begin with. (Dangling Prepositions and all.)

Sadly, I have a penis and can not vote for you as requested...I tried and it was a mom's network thingy...sigh. As for my candidate, it said to vote for you via sex change...I declined. I am a republican...but find myself moderate on issues (that means neither republicans or democrats can spit out the correct formula to represent me entirely). I am an enigma even to myself I suppose. Secretly, I want Hill-dawg to win so she will open the flood gates for further women empowerment. I have 3 daughters after all.
