It’s (NOT) the most wonderful time of the year

I hate snow. I hate being cold. I hate winter. We always ask the same question this time of the year:

Why the hell do we live in New Hampshire?!?!?

We still haven't come up with a great answer.  I mean, sure, we both grew up here, but what is keeping us here? Most of our family is in the area. I suppose having support close by is a huge benefit...especially since THE Daddy has been traveling a lot for work.  BUT, it's no way to live to be miserable for 2 ½ months out of the year.

It’s 10am Monday and we already have at least 6 inches of snow. It’s 27 degrees outside. It’s supposed to snow the rest of the day. Just about every school is closed, which means that the kids are home. I feel awful for saying this after what happened Friday, but I’m so ready for the kids to go back to school. They are bouncing off the walls and driving us both nuts while we’re trying to get some work done.  We did spend a ton of quality time together this weekend...lots of extra snuggling.

I spoke to my dad this morning. He feels the same way about winter. He relocated to Charleston, SC a little over 10 years ago. We SO would love to live down there. He said that it’s 70 degrees today. He tried complaining because it was raining, but I wasn’t having it.

Anyone want to hire an extremely hard working construction director in the Charleston area? Or anywhere else somewhat warm, for that matter? I'm looking for a place where the entire area shuts down when there is a rare snowflake falling. Finding THE Daddy a job that will pay what he makes now is our biggest obstacle.

If you could pick anywhere to live year round, where would you live?

Hmmm, if I could live anywhere.... Hawai'i. No doubt about it. In a heartbeat.

You know, Atlanta is great if you're looking to get away from the cold winter weather and snow. The entire place shuts down and the grocery stores have a run on bread and milk if just one snowflake drops from the sky. Check it out!

I'm constantly trying to get my husband to move down South, but he likes being by family. Whats so great about family, I ask! Warm sun, beaches, fried chicken OR snow and your mom. Duh!! The fried chicken wins every time!

We have dreams of moving from the East Coast to the West coast but we are similar to you. All of our immediate family is located within a 10 mile radius so it helps out alot. Especially since we both work and are trying to keep the baby out of daycare. Plus I just don't know if I have the cahonies to actually move that far away.
