Surprised by CNN's Democratic Debate

I had a case of insomnia last night and ended up watching CNN's Democratic Debate.  I must say that I found it surprisingly entertaining.

I found the back and forth sparring from Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton interesting and annoying all at the same time.

What shocked me the most was that I actually LIKE John Edwards.  I never gave him a second look before.  I wonder why?

He seems to have a lot of the same policy views as Hillary, yet doesn't have lobbyists and corporations in his back pocket and/or biting him in the ass.  I like how he seemed to rise above the mud slinging between Barack and Hillary and keep the debate on the issues.  And, he's actually kind of funny.  I laughed out loud a couple of times.

If I hadn't missed the NH primary by extending our vacation in Aruba, I think he would have had my vote.  Sadly, I don't think he has a chance in hell of winning the nomination.  I wonder if he would make a good Vice Presidential candidate for one of them??

What do you think...was I just delirious from insomnia?  Or did Edwards come out looking strong last night?

You are correct. I'm just tired of the friggin' mud slinging between Obama and Clinton. And it's only January! I thought they would have made a good team on the same ticket, but they've ruined it.

I had that delusion too! I do think they would have made a great team...just a matter of who is willing to play second fiddle. If they cut the crap, I wonder if it'll be too late for that to happen? I, personally, would find it slightly hypocritical to suddently become friendly. I think Edwards is still playing "nice nice" for him to be a good VP for one of them.
