How to: Make a difference in one baby’s life…

Look at those eyes. Look at that smile. Isn’t she adorable?!
This beautiful baby is the niece of one my softball players. She is just seven months old and needs a liver transplant. I don’t typically pimp out MommyCosm, but this is definitely a worthy cause that hits close to home for me. It is my understanding that they can’t even put her onto a transplant list until the family raises about $35,000 to cover their share of the procedure. Gotta love our health care system. If you click on her picture, it will take you to a website where you can make a donation of any size. Any little bit will help.
Each season, I break my team down into small teams and we have a weekly challenge. They compete against each other for a grand prize at the end of the season. It’s great for team building and is a lot of fun. Lauren’s family is going to be selling wrist bands and we have added a challenge for this season. The small team to raise the most money selling these bands will win the challenge. If the entire team raises over $500, my husband has agreed to take them all out to eat at one of his restaurants. The giving spirit of these girls is truly amazing. I will update you when we're finished to let you know how much they raised. I'm very proud of them.
I am getting close to the one year anniversary of my donation of peripheral blood stem cells to a 21 year old woman with leukemia. Organ donation is a cause close to my heart.
I barely remember my kids at seven months. I assume they were starting to enjoy eating real foods. Both were still breast feeding at that age. I'm sure there were days when I thought I had it so rough. I can't even imagine what Lauren's mother is going through. If you're unable to give money, please send good thoughts and positive energy their way, 'k?
Note: The team does not know about MommyCosm. Please do not refer to me when donating...if you out me to them, I guarantee you my posts will become incredibly lame when I have to tone down for a pg-13 crowd;)

There is NOTHING wrong with using your site to pimp a good cause. In fact, I believe that's what should be done. Use what you have to help others. I would totally love to donate, but being without a job right now, that's kind of hard. BUT, I may be back on track in a little while, in which case, I will click and give. No child deserves to suffer. I know that's impossible in this world, but if ever I can do something that brings that statement one step closer to reality, I sure as hell will.
