100 Words: Fresh
Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 05:53PM
“And when you slammed the front door shut, a lot of others opened up” (Daughtry)
SLAM!
I’m waiting…
That front door, the one which my husband entered to go to work everyday, well, they slammed it in his face almost 9 weeks ago.
I was an optimist. I used to believe in fate and karma.
SO, where are the others opening up?
Not finding them. A couple of doors that looked ajar, well, they just ended up being dead ends.
I’m waiting…
*sigh*
Wondering if we should just liquidate everything we own and move to Aruba?
Make a fresh start.

I love your 100 words. I'm just sorry about the content. I hope things work out so that your next 100 words is about, perhaps, more pleasant things.
BTW, you need to leave a link back to your post in your comment on Velvet's site. If you don't know how to do that, email me at my gmail.com accout. the name is lou.lohman@

Oops. Thanks, Lou! I just added it.
Wishing you the best despite the (so far) disappointment. Hey, Aruba isn't a bad plan B in the grand scheme of "plan b"s.
Hey there! Another new participant, wheeee! And then ouch. Such a hard place to be, that groundlessness. And yet, there is fundamental truth to one door closing and another opening. We just never know what new opportunities are waiting to be found.
The new challenge will be up today!
Ouch. I never know if these are truth or fiction. Hopefully this one is fiction. I have lived there. It took six months for us to have a door open and two seconds for the courage to walk through. We hesitated because it meant we would have to live apart for 2 1/2 years. We are together now and have never looked back --- it all ended for the better. And I think I've just written another 100 words. Again the memories that come when reading what others write is almost overwhelming at times. Keep the faith --- the right door will open.

Sad, but this one is true. Eee-Gads, six months?!
I vote sell it all and move to Aruba. Because I would do the same, except Bonaire. :) Great 100 words!

We might just do that. There's the slight problem of our house. We purchased it 4 years ago and have lost ALL equity in it. We'd be lucky to dump it for the original purchase price and we've done a TON with it: finished basement, hardwood, crown molding, etc. etc.
We'll see what happens.
What a great approach to the prompt!
If this isn't fiction, hang in there. I've learned that sometimes, the doors don't open fast enough for my liking, but the wait winds up being worth it.

Unfortunately, it's not fiction. A couple of doors are ajar right now. We'll see if any can open up soon.
