Haiku Friday: DNC

Not sure about you
This is the first year I watched
What a show it was

I’m interested
Ambivalent in the past
I am on board now

Bring it on, McCain
I just can’t wait to see how
You can compete now

Barack Obama
He made quite the impression
He has my support

Did you notice Obama has BAM in his name? HMMMM

His competition John McLaim... We watched too.

It was a great speech.

[Ashlie- MommyCosm]
I think I'll refer to him as O-BAM-a from now on;)

I've been following all week long, but I was already sold!

[Ashlie- MommyCosm]
I've been watching him from before the whole Oprah appearance. I liked him, but wasn't fully committed to actually CARING about the election. I know, bad attitude. Well, my husband is out of work and we've lost 100% of the equity in our house over the past 2 years. Something needs to change and I do believe he can lead Washington to make some changes.
For the record, I cried when Kennedy was there. I cried when Biden's son gave his Intro. I'm not a crier...it appears I'm emotionally involved with politics for the first time in my life.

Hehehe, great haiku, and I just got done commenting on another haiku about the same awesome speech, so I hope you don't mind me copying and pasting this:

I almost always try to avoid politics, but ya know, screw it. You are right. I’ve been cheering for this man from way back, especially since the night he took the race issue head on, because he really does seem to “get it” in ways that I think it needs to be gotten, and for that? He gets my vote, too. ;)

[Ashlie- MommyCosm]
I, too, try to avoid it...but it has sucked me in this election. It's about time that someone in Washington "gets it".

Your Haiku is SMOKIN'!! If this (and that 100 Words you did) is a sample of what you're capable of, we'd all better sharpen up.

Now, let me run through your archives and see if my off-color, sexually-laden remarks will fit in here. So to speak.

[Ashlie- MommyCosm]
Oh, honey...off-color, sexually-laden remarks SO fit in here and are strongly encouraged. Don't you worry about offending anybody on MommyCosm! Bring it on.

Woohoo!

I really should pay more attention to the election. I have never watched the conventions... I get tired of hearing the same old stuff. Maybe this year will be different.
