All Natural Necco wafers = two thumbs WAY up
Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:16PM We were recently sent a free bag of the new All Natural Necco wafers to try. I was excited to learn that the New England Confectionery Company was willing to forgo the use of High Fructose Corn Syrup as well as artificial colors and flavors, so I signed up quickly for the opportunity via TwitterMoms.
Have I've mentioned before that I'm slowly becoming a tree hugging hippie freak as of late? Yeah, I believe I have.
I LOVE sugar candies. I could eat an entire roll of Necco wafers in about 2.2 seconds. Well, except for the pink ones because they taste like Pepto Bismol and I OD'd on Pepto when I was 4ish and had to go to the hospital. *ahem* A story for another day.
I've gotta be honest with you. I try to avoid HFCS and artificial colors like the plague, but I was worried that changing the standard formula would somehow ruin these little bits of sugary-quasi-evil-but-oh-so-goodness. Kinda like when Coke tried changing their recipe with "Coke Classic." That didn't go over so good, remember?
I was pleasantly surprised to find that I LOVED the all natural wafers. More so than the original. The consistency is the same. The flavors are almost...well, more flavorful. In a really, really good way. Especially the white ones. And the chocolate-only packs? Those are my favorites.
My original plan was to hand some of these out for trick-or-treat on Halloween. But we passed them out at our annual pumpkin party over the weekend and they are all gone. I heard the same review over and over: YUM. These are better than the originals.
So, everyone in Mommycosm gives the all natural Necco wafers two thumbs WAY up. Check them out.
There are seven Necco wafer colors/flavors. Can you name them?
(Disclaimer: As stated above, I received a bag of wafers for free. To try. My review is honest and I received no other compensation for this post. How's that FTC?)

I never liked the originals, but I'd be willing to try this variety.
I love NECCO wafers - and I would love to try the 'all natural' variety. All I gotta do is find 'em.
