Not a happy Monday...
Monday, February 9, 2009 at 06:52AM We're busy packing this morning and soaking up every last bit of sun. Hoping to bring some back with me to NH later today. In the interest of saving time, you're stuck with an annoying bulleted post:
- I miss the kids, but I still am not ready to go back home. I remember the first overnight I took away from each and there was a physical anxiety that woke me at 6am and forced me back home to them. I haven't experienced that down here, yet. I know they are in good hands and have said goodnight to them every day around 7pm. I have more anxiety about leaving here than I do about missing them. That surprised me.
- I went to watch part of practice for the Aruba Softball Selection Team. Picture Team USA, but for ages 15-17. They are playing in Kingdom Games later this year, which is kind of like our World Cup. I met the coach and would LOVE to get more involved with coaching down here someday. I currently help a team in Aruba when I'm here, and bring them equipment from the US. The coach of that team brought me to the Selection Team practice and introduced me.
- The owner of our B&B has been in the hospital for the last couple of days. He has vasculitis in his foot and developed an infection. Kind of strange to be checking out without saying goodbye to him. Good thing we got to know him before he got ill b/c we are staying in his house without him here...gave him a chance to know he can trust us. We're locking up when we leave and giving our keys to another couple staying here.
- Air dried clothes are not as soft as those dried in an actual dryer. Just sayin.
- Oh, Aunt Flo decided she wanted in on the Aruba action this morning. Damn bitch couldn't stay home and wait for me to get through a long day of travel. Traveling is stressful enough and I'm already sad to be leaving. I didn't need to drag her ass along, too.
I'll start posting for real again tomorrow, from New Hampshire.
OR Wednesday if I'm wrapped in a blanket by the fireplace all day tomorrow, rocking and talking to myself. I'm a little worried what the lack of fresh air will do to my sanity. I'm hoping the trip refreshed me and my body doesn't go into convulsions when it doesn't feel the sun.
If you don't hear from me by Thursday, you might want to send an intervention committee.

So noted on the intervention people. They're on stand-by. I'll be leaving for FL on Wednesday for a five-day break. I may not come back, either. Kids know how to go to the bathroom on their own and get milk out of the fridge. They should be OK, right?!?
Welcome home, traveler.
