Haiku Friday: Weekend Away

Bathing suits, sunscreen,
shorts, shirts, underpants and food.
Make list and check twice.

It is SO much work
to plan a weekend away.
Hope it is worth it.

---

We're headed to a friend's lakehouse this weekend.  We're not even done packing and I'm already exhausted.  Clothes for 4 people (*ahem* clean ones, which involves laundry), arranging for a dog sitter, cleaning the house so it doesn't look like a bomb went off for said dog sitter - oh, and packing food b/c the house is on a tiny lake island only accessible by boat.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm looking forward to going and it will be fun and relaxing once we get there.  But, seriously?!  It's a lot of work to go away for just a couple of days.

I might just need a vacation after our weekend away!

Have a great weekend :)

We ceased calling them family "vacations" long ago and now refer to them only as family "trips"! It is distinctly NOT a vacation to travel with the family, but it can make for some great experiences and memories. I hope you have a great weekend full of both!
Enjoy it as you can!!

Have a good time - even though I suspect that, while everyone else 'vacations', you will be stuck doing most of the work.

I swear it must defy some kind of law of quantum physics, the amount of work that goes into just a weekend getaway.

Have fun?
LOL :)

AND? It's a lot of work when you get home. :) Hope you're having an awesome time!
