eBay's Love to Give campaign + $100 gift card unwrap attack {giveaway}

eBay is celebrating this holiday season in style with their Love to Give campaign.  Ever witness an "unwrap attack"?  You know, when someone unwraps their gift and goes completely hysterical after seeing what's inside?

On eBay's Love to Give website you will find a series of webisodes from Samantha Bee along with a gallery of consumer-created unwrap attack videos that showcase some of the most hilarious and heartwarming gift giving and receiving moments captured on video – moments of pure emotion when people receive that
just-right gift.

I'll let Samantha tell you a little more about it:

{giggle}

That is just one of six hilarious webisodes.  My favorite is The Unwrap Attack Family.

For the record, I totally want to be Samatha Bee when I grow up.  She cracks me up.  (If you're wondering where you've seen her before - it's probably from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.)

I still remember my very own unwrap attack moment.  I was 12 years old.  My dad - who HATED cats - gave me a kitten that year for Christmas.  I totally freaked ... and then I cried.  To this day, it was the best gift EVER.  Unfortunately, all I have is my memory of the moment.  We didn't have a video camera back then.

eBay is hoping to inspire moms to create their own unwrap attack moment for their family members.  I don't know about you, but I often search eBay before making online purchases because you can often find great deals.  Plus, they always have those impossible-to-locate gifts - yes, I'm talking to YOU, 2009 ZhuZhu Pets.

They have a new Facebook app called the eBay Unwrap Attack Creator which allows you to see your loved ones having an unwrap attack before the holidays.  You can upload their picture, choose a gift on eBay and watch how they react when seeing that just-right gift.

Get this...eBay is offering one lucky Mommycosm Reader a $100 gift certificate to use on their site.  That certainly could help you create your very own unwrap attack moment this holiday, you think?

Want to enter to win?

In 350 words or less, do ONE of the following in comments:

  • Share your best unwrap attack story.
  • Tell us: What gift would give you an unwrap attack this holiday season?

One comment per person.  Entries must be received by 7:59:59 am PT on December 12, 2010 to be eligible. eBay will choose a random winner.  See the Official Sweepstakes Rules for full details.

In accordance to the FTC Guidelines and WOMMA Code of Ethics, I am disclosing that the gift cards from this giveaway have been provided by eBay. Although I have a material connection to eBay, any publicly stated opinions of eBay remain my own.

These days the thing that would give me an unwrap attack would be a laptop (or any device that is portable and allows me to get on the internet) Since I know it is unaffordable at this time, I would seriously have an unwrap attack if it were to happen.

Opening a shiny new iPad would totally give me an unwrap attack this year. My hubby knows it's on my wishlist but I don't think he'd really buy it so it would be a total surprise if he did.

Opening an engagement ring from my boyfriend would certainly give me an unwrap attack. I'm not expecting it really until after I meet his parents for Christmas, but it sure would be a nice surprise :)

I think our famillys best unwrap attack was last year, when my son got an xbox. He was begging for one for a couple of years and finacially we're not in the position to spend that much on just one of our kids. However, I saved and also sold a number of items on Ebay and was able to come up with the money...anyway, on Christmas morning, it was the last gift unwrapped and when my son opened it, he got so excited and emotional...here's this big tuff kid, getting teary eyed. He got so excited that he backed up into the tree and nearly knocked it over. I still laugh and get tears in my eyes when I think how much he appreciated this gift. Thanks so much for this great giveaway!

The best unwrap attack was not for Christmas but for my grandsons bday. He wanted Buzz Lightyear and when he unwrapped it I thought he was gonna go nutsm he is 5 by the way. This Christmas the best unwrap attack would be for him to unwrap a xbox 360. He has talked about one for a year and I just can't afford to buy one.

Honestly, the thing that would bring on the biggest unwrap attack in my household would be cloth diapers. Yes, diapers. I know it isn't glamorous, but we have an 11 month old and another due next month, and we have decided to switch to cloth diapering. We have made this very clear to family and friends, but for whatever reason, when planning our shower they ALL decided to completely ignore our wishes and no one helped get us diapers. Instead, they decided to get us kid's books...which we already have over 500 of! So as it stands, when our son is born, we won't have anything to cover his butt!

I once hid a pair of ruby and diamond earrings inside a dust buster and put it under the tree for my wife. The look she gave me when she unwrapped the box was almost lethal, but turned priceless once I convinced her to check out all the accessories in the box.
