Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Yep, this is my daughter.  She's SEVEN.  And I have NO idea where that voice came from.  I couldn't carry a tune if my life depended on it.  I love to watch her onstage.  This clip is classic because you can literally hear the crowd say "Awwww" when she is introduced...like "Awww....how cute, a little girl singing a little girl version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

After she starts singing, you can hear a pin drop in the audience.  It happens every time...and totally gives me chills.

The local paper said:

Seven-year-old...surprised crowds with her mature performance of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"

She is WAY cooler than I'll ever be;)

Amazing little girl. That takes, if nothing else, one heck of a lot of chutzpah - she sings nicely, as well. Lots of voice for such a young child. Well done. Very well done.

When that YouTube video finished, I saw, next in the lineup, that the Israel Kamakawiwo video was right there - and I watched that one, too. That whole thing is so tragic - brought tears to my eyes. Again.
