Start of a new chapter

My husband started his new job today!

Can I get an AMEN?!

He had to drive all the way to Boston - which is 80 miles away from where we live.  It's not a horrible commute, as long as you avoid rush hours.  Once he is trained, he will be on the road a bit more and has a territory of Boston-North.  We live North.  So, that will be perfect.

Of course, after months of us both being unemployed, I'm reaaaaallllly psyched that he is back in the land of employed.  We managed to stay afloat, but a steady income and benefits like health insurance will be a relief.  COBRA is expensive.

But...

I kinda got used to having him around.  So have the kids.  I didn't need to get a sitter during softball season - not once.  Daddy was on it.  On nights when I had a game, he would get them to/from their softball and tee ball games and to bed.  He took over grocery shopping, for the most part.  He cooked more than me...and between you and me...he's the better cook.  Shhhhhhhh!  He even vacuumed sometimes.

And now it's just me.  Alone with the kids.  Solely responsible again for all the mundane chores at home...especially since I am still technically unemployed.

*sigh*

We're going to miss Daddy.
