Energizer: Recharge Smart™ this Mom at BlogHer '10

Everyone knows the Energizer brand. Batteries. Right? So what’s this whole Recharge Smart™ thing?
Well, I haven’t used one. Yet. I’m kicking it old school with a much older model. But the description on their site is way cool. For starters, it has a battery fuel gauge that shows the charge status on a large visual display. It also features a countdown charger that shows how long until batteries are charged. I’m a parent. My kids blow through a TON of batteries. I think this new charger is...well, aptly named. Smart.
So, I’m going to let you in on a little secret: I AM the Energizer Bunny.
Don't believe me? Want proof? I'll give you a 2-fer. Proof I'm the Energizer Bunny AND proof that I need a new camera...here ya go:
That pink blur marching by, leaving dust in her path? You know, the one effortlessly beating the drum while setting a pace no one else can match? Yeah. In many, many ways...that’s me.
In addition to bunny ears, I wear multiple hats: mom, wife, softball coach, writer, chauffeur, CFO, event planner, nurse, chef, referee, maid, teacher, veterinarian, etc. I keep going and going and going...
Much like Energizer’s batteries, eventually this Mom needs a recharge.
Enter BlogHer ’10 in NYC - the ultimate Mom Blogger recharging venue.
I could share my financial sob story here...the one about my husband and me being laid off within a month of each other this spring. However, in this economy, I’m sure the majority of us could use $2,000 to defray costs. But, let’s face it, if we’re planning a trip to BlogHer and don’t already have sponsorship, which I don't...well, our financial situation may be tight, but it certainly isn’t dire. If it was, it wouldn’t be responsible to attend at all. Right?
So, no sob story from me. Instead, I’ll tell you why I would be perfect for the job.
Did you know that in my past life - before kids - I was an event planner? Yep. Both for the city of Boston and a well known technology events company. I traveled to numerous conferences a year. I worked registration, housing and exhibitor booths. I’m a professional, friendly, enthusiastic and charismatic person...if I do say so myself. I passed out swag with the best of them. I even dressed as Mrs. Claus once while passing out candy. Oh, yes. I did.
*Sigh*
Sometimes I miss that part of my pre-Mom life.
Representing Energizer would be a great way for me to Recharge Smart™ my own batteries - the ones that keep me going while juggling those multiple hats. Wearing Energizer shirts would solve my What to Wear issues. I'd even consider wearing the bunny ears. Passing out USB drives with info about Recharge Smart™would be fun, especially if I handed out the one containing a $500 Target gift card. It would be awesome to make someone's day like that.
So, Mommycosm readers, please wish me luck. Think good thoughts...OR...maybe send some positive energy my way - just be sure to power it with Energizer rechargeable batteries;)
