Mommycosm Reviews Episode 22: Interview with Hollee Schwartz Temple, co-author of Good Enough is the New Perfect

In case you missed last week's special one hour episode of Mommycosm Reviews, here is the (edited) video of the first half of the show, during which I interviewed Hollee Schwartz Temple:

Hollee co-authored Good Enough is the New Perfect: Finding Happiness and Success in Modern Motherhood along with Becky Beaupre Gillespie.  I mentioned on the show that I met Hollee at Blissdom when she was on a panel at one of the sessions. She mentioned the book and talked a little about her "Good Enough" approach to life.  I was smitten.

This book is fabulous.  The women's stories resonated with me so strongly.  It truly speaks to my generation and I would highly recommend it to anyone trying to do all and be all.  It will give you a little insight into the why our generation feels the need to be perfect at all costs...and if you are currently struggling with modern motherhood, perhaps inspire you to give yourself permission to accept a "good enough" approach.

I started cutting myself some slack a year or so ago, but this book gave me the research and a greater depth of awareness behind my motivations.  Although my laundry sometimes piles up or some days you may walk into my house and see dirty dishes in the sink (gasp!), I am much, much happier.

Disclosure:

I received a free review copy of the book in order to facilitate my review.  Thoughts are my own.
