It's not summer yet in the cosm
Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10:36AM Seems like everyone else outside of New England is already on school vacation for the summer. Not here. The kids have three weeks left of school. Thank God. I'm not ready for them to be home yet. Just figuring out our summer plan now. Seems like a combination of Rec Camp, Theater Camp and lake/beach trips will be on the agenda.
I'm not calling it Summer until softball is over and the kids are out of school. Just so you know;-)
You might assume (somewhat correctly) that my life is all about softball right now. However, there are a few things to share outside of my Coach Kim world.
I am producing a series of monthly videos for Rasamaya Movement Centers to be published on their blog. May kicked off the first series, which was all about knee health. Love the idea behind the series and love working with Carrie Tyler, the owner/founder. I have fallen out of practice with yoga and it's uplifting just to be around her energy. Hoping to pick back up my practice and teacher training once... wait for it... softball is over.
TheMotherhood held another live video Cooking Connections event with celebrity host George Duran. This one was about Summer Picnic Recipes. I hope ConAgra picks up the series again for future episodes. They are so much fun for me to produce and I always pick up new recipes and tips. Confession: I've almost forgotten to switch cameras during them because I'm so engrossed in the content. Almost.
My inbox is starting to fill with opportunities for my post-softball schedule. It's not completely stressing me out, so that's a good sign. Right?
OK. It's not physically possible for me to NOT talk about softball. My high school team is awaiting seeding results for tournament. They finished 12-4 for the season and will fall somewhere between 3-5 out of 26 teams in the division. Our senior pitcher has 495 career strike outs and should hit 500 during prelims next week. It's an exciting time of the year. Although I can see the light at the end of the tunnel... and have determined that it's not an oncoming train... I'm not ready for it to be over yet. Looking forward to seeing how far we can take it in tournament. When my team plays united with confidence, they are unbeatable.
Does it feel like summer yet where you are? Kids out of school yet? Any fun plans?
