I am a HUGE New England Patriots fan. I know, they are the team to hate right now…but I was a fan before Spy Gate, before Tom Brady and before they won 3 Super Bowls. We were given 4 tickets to the Patriots game on Sunday against the Jets. These are quite possibly THE most sought after tickets in all of New England right now. There is a lot of bad blood between the Pats and Jets. Hello Spy Gate. The Pats are going to squash them. We are 13-0 and close to an undefeated season. I SO want to be there. It’s history in the making. Oh, and the free tickets…they also come with free food and drinks in a VIP tent prior to the game. The problem?

Select A Candidate

If you’re anything like me, you know exactly which candidates you do NOT want to vote for in the upcoming Presidential primary elections…but haven’t quite narrowed down which of the remaining candidates is the lesser of the evils best fit for you.

We leave for our vacation on Monday and won’t be back until late the night before Election Day. We vote a little early here in NH. I always vote, but for the first time in my life, I am very interested in the outcome…and have found myself asking those around me who they are voting for…and why.  While I'm away, I don't want to think about much of anything...beyond who is watching the kids so that mommy can have a margarita by the pool, so I feel like I need to make a decision before we leave.

It’s difficult to distinguish between a number of the candidates and where they stand on the issues. I found this Select A Candidate Survey. It asks a series of questions and then makes you rate how important the issue is to you. It will then give you a weighted list of the presidential candidates showing you exactly where your views match theirs.

I wasn’t shocked to find that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were the first 2 on my list.  It gave me a list of where I agree and disagree with each. I found it helpful, although I’m still undecided.

Do you know who you are voting for?

If not, give it a try.

If so, I'd love to hear the whos and the whys.  Please leave a comment.

Have I mentioned that the book "What Got You Here Won't Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful" by Marshall Goldsmith quite possibly saved my marriage? It has come up a few times recently within my comments on a few of my favorite blogs, so I thought I’d share “the how”.

Blogging Advice: Custom Headers & WordPress

MommyCosm started as an experiment for me.  When I first created this site I stuck with a very basic design and logo.  Now that I've gotten the hang of this whole blogging thing, I am finding that I have serious design envy.  Visually, MommyCosm is *yawn* boring.  I want some blog bling for Christmas.

I'm reaching out to my regular readers and you lurkers...yes, you...do you have any recommendations for where to go for a custom designed header?

I also have the MommyCosm username over at WorldPress and am seriously considering moving on over there.  Reason number one would be the rent...it's um, free.  SquareSpace is easy to use and I really haven't had any issues, except that I pay a monthly fee.  I wasn't sure at first if I was going to try to monetize the blog, so I didn't mind shelling out a bit to easily get things started.  Now that I kind of know what I'm doing, I don't want the pressure of feeling like I should use ads or other money-making things...I may decide to some day, but it's not a priority.  I've really met a lot of great people and enjoy the social aspect of blogging.

SO, any WordPress users want to put in their .02?  Has your experience with WordPress been positive?  Advice?
