Regular readers know that I started working from Aruba after my husband went back to NH on Jan 7th. I was pretty lax during the first three weeks down here. With the exception of checking email every now and then, neither of us actually did much in the way of working. For me, that equaled next to zero blogging. As it should be…we were here on a much needed vacation.
I checked my blog stats yesterday and noticed that I had an extra 600 hits on Monday. Cool, right?
Not so much. I usually hang out at about 100 hits a day, so I was curious to see what was going on. Certainly, my Natalee Holloway post couldn’t have generated this much traffic?
Nope.
In a span of about 2 ½ hours, someone in Slovakia hit my site about 600 times. In my less-than-expert opinion, it didn’t look like a web crawler. They went onto individual posts occasionally, but the majority of the hits were on my login page…WTF?!
I’m not sure what gives, but it didn’t sit well with me. So I blocked the IP address.
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this was to manage on Squarespace. Also noticed how to disregard my IP address so that my hits don’t count towards my stats. Pretty cool.
Have any of you had this happen on your blogs? Please share any insight and/or advice.
Cinnamon.
On Sweet Potato Chips.
No high fructose corn syrup.
No partially hydrogenated anything.
No artificial colors.
I'm sure they're not exactly "healthy" for you...but I LOVE these.
My first reaction was that it tasted like little fried doughs...possibly that is due to the fact that I put cinnamon and sugar on the fried dough at the local fair.
I discovered them here in Aruba. I'm really hoping that I can find them when I get home. I'm hopeful that my local supermarket will carry Pringles Cinnamon Sweet Potatoes by the individual bag....although I definitely like them enough to buy the 8 pack from Amazon if it's my only option! I added the picture so that you can see what I'm talking about. Don't feel like you need to buy from Amazon. I would only get a penny or so, hardly enough to fuel my new addiction.
Am I the last person alive to discover these? Have any of you tried any of the other flavors?
Couldn't get the damn link to work from the picture. If you want to buy them from Amazon: Pringles Select Potato Crisps, Cinnamon Sweet Potato, 5.5-Ounce Packages (Pack of 8)
I had a case of insomnia last night and ended up watching CNN's Democratic Debate. I must say that I found it surprisingly entertaining.
I found the back and forth sparring from Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton interesting and annoying all at the same time.
What shocked me the most was that I actually LIKE John Edwards. I never gave him a second look before. I wonder why?
He seems to have a lot of the same policy views as Hillary, yet doesn't have lobbyists and corporations in his back pocket and/or biting him in the ass. I like how he seemed to rise above the mud slinging between Barack and Hillary and keep the debate on the issues. And, he's actually kind of funny. I laughed out loud a couple of times.
If I hadn't missed the NH primary by extending our vacation in Aruba, I think he would have had my vote. Sadly, I don't think he has a chance in hell of winning the nomination. I wonder if he would make a good Vice Presidential candidate for one of them??
What do you think...was I just delirious from insomnia? Or did Edwards come out looking strong last night?
Since my last post received such a strong exchange from new readers, I've decided to go with a bit lighter of a topic this time around.

I love my job. I'm able to work from anywhere...and I've proven that by staying in Aruba for 3 additional weeks beyond our scheduled vacation and working from an internet cafe. I also love that I get to research blogs. I come across some pretty interesting stuff.
(I'll keep this post PG-13 since I'm actually not working from the privacy of my own home. If you want to see what I'm talking about, click the link above. I wouldn't quite categorize it as NSFW...if you leave it up quickly. An innocent passer-by to your desk or cube probably won't be immediately offended...unless you use the pic for your background or screensaver!)
I can honestly say that I have never seen these. You?
I almost wet my pants. And there's an older couple next to me in the Internet Cafe while I have this picture up on the screen. Too funny!!!
I want to know where to buy them. I wouldn't put them on my car...but perhaps our bar in the basement could use a little artwork.
