Told Mother-in-law:
I’m going for cigarettes
I don’t even smoke.
...I'm just a little MIA this week.
I tried to scan an adorable "Map to Aruba" that Princess drew. Damn scanner isn't working. It starts off with blue marker with the word "cold" followed by a blue line with an arrow followed by a red line with an arrow. At the end, she wrote "AR OO BA". Very cute. Would've been great for a Wordless Wednesday post. Oh well.
The Chronicles of BamBam continue. We had a follow up visit with the specialist yesterday. His lymph nodes around his appendix are still swollen. The fevers have gone away and he has more than gained his weight back. The kid is eating us out of the house. He has intermittent pain around his appendix area and horrible night sweats. We had to get him to pee in a cup again. I'm an expert now. Also had to get a stool sample and bring him for more blood work. Didn't see the portal to Aruba while we were there, although I looked for it, I swear.
Chester might have kennel cough, but I haven't had a chance to bring him to the vet. BamBam's hospital visit trumped his vet appointment. He's going to have to wait a bit.
Princess was home with diarrhea Mon and Tues. She's such a drama queen. Totally freaks out and makes me look in the toilet whenever she has anything usual. I wonder when she will outgrow that??
Oh, yeah. And it's softball season in MommyCosm. Like I don't have enough going on. SO, We're finally outside. There's just a smidgen of snow left near the dug outs. I think we might actually pull off our first game on Friday. I have either practice or a game every day Mon-Friday for about another 8 weeks. God help us.
So, I'm OK over here in MommyCosm, just a very busy week with a few unexpected happenings taking up my free/blogging time. Hopefully things slow down soon.

The snow is finally melting and there is a winter's worth of dog poop in our back yard. They especially like to do their business in the the back, right corner of the lot.
According to this website about Feng Shui and Real Estate, the back right corner of your house/lot is the "Love & Marraige" area.
WOW, that explains a lot!
Please, no more pooping on our marriage. I think we need to find another spot for them...like in the woods across the field from our house!
Read my last post about the Ebb and Flow of Marriage in order to fully understand this post.
A friend just sent me an email with a video link. Randy Pauch is a professor. He is dying of pancreatic cancer. He is a husband and father of 3 children. This was his last lecture, as given on Oprah. Incredibly touching on a good day.
Today, it felt like he was speaking right to me and my husband. Certainly puts life in perspective. We didn't need to build the bridge, this one plopped right down to bring us on the same side. Funny how the universe brings you what you need...in the most unexpected ways.
Marriage isn’t easy, especially in today’s world. A world when at least half of all marriages end in divorce. It’s as if society says that an easy out is OK. Perhaps going into marriage, people don’t think through things fully and marry the wrong person, or it’s the right person but they marry for the wrong reasons; all the while knowing that they have this easy out if they need it. My own sister has been divorced, twice. I am surrounded by friends who have made this choice and a few who have had it made for them. My husband and I half-joke each time we hear of another divorce that the odds of us staying together just increased, statistically speaking.
