Got Wii??

I had heard bits and pieces about this whole Wii thing. I didn’t really take notice or get too excited because I’m not really a big video game person. I mean, sure, I had an Atari 5200 back in the day and could play Frogger with the best of them. But as an adult, especially since becoming a mom, I don’t have a lot of time to waste. I’m lucky if I get 5 minutes alone in the bathroom. A luxury such as a mindless video game is way out of my realm.

That was until my husband kind of - sort of won a Wii at work. Really his friend/colleague won it and sold it to him for a steal. It has the whole sports package and Guitar Hero. He was so excited about it. It was all he talked about. I was very ehh, whatever about it. What’s the big deal?!

So naïve…so clueless am I.

I’ve had a really rough week with softball. The mean person ended up *ahem* “leaving the team for personal reasons” *ahem*. Long, emotional story and I’ve been a bit aloof this week online because it has consumed almost every bit of my energy and I can’t technically talk about it. Not fair for a blogging mom used to sharing every detail of life with you.

Anyhow, I met my girlfriends for dinner on Thursday night (a rare event) and when I came home, my husband was not only scrubbing the floor (!!!!), but had set up the new Wii for me. He recommended the boxing game.

OMG, I beat the SNOT out of Mr. Wii Guy!! And it felt SOOOO good. I was sweating and dancing around the living room after the big KO. I could feel the frustration and stress of my week just melt away and was able to laugh for the first time in what felt like ages.

We’re going to SC for my dad’s wedding this weekend and I’m considering packing it. Want to avoid therapy bills? Two words: Blog and Wii.  Want to take out frustration on your spouse?  Get two of the nunchuk paddles and you can actually box eachother!

I mean, seriously, am I really the last person alive to get a Wii? I feel so behind in the times.

Mean People Suck

I'm not ready to share a lot of detail right now, but I had someone be extremely mean to me yesterday.  It was another coach.  In front of both our junior varsity and varsity team.  It left me speachless.  I KNOW, me...speachless?!

It also reduced me to tears the entire way home, about a 30 minute ride.  I don't cry.  Not never.  Just as a rule.  I cried in front of my Princess and had to explain that someone was very mean to me and it hurt my feelings.  I was up all night considering my options and what results I would like to see.  I spent a long time composing an email to the mean person and others involved this morning.  Felt a little better.

I read my horoscope after sending out the email:

Get involved today -- don't shy away from putting yourself in the spotlight or ruffling a few feathers. If you see someone getting undeserved abuse, defend them! Don't just turn a blind eye and tell yourself that it's none of your business. Of course, you can't be a volunteer police officer and dive into dangerous situations, but there are going to be a couple of situations where someone needs to be put in their place. Give mean people a piece of your mind.

LOL.  How does this happen?  How can your horoscope be so completely dead on?  Ever feel like certain things in the universe are simply out of your control?

Oh, yes.  I put him in his place and definitely gave him a piece of my mind.  In a more appropriate manner and forum than he chose to attack me.  I guess I should feel better knowing that it was in the stars all along?
